Billie Jo Laws, 86, a resident of Wynne, AR departed this life, Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Crossridge Hospital, with her children by her side. She was born, September 11, 1934, in Widener, the daughter of Joseph Calvin and Chalice Arvilla Jane Brimhall McCammon.
Ms. Laws was a 1953 graduate of Forrest City High School, she married Mr. James Laws on February 20, 1954. Billie worked for Southwestern Bell as an operator for many years before going to work at Sanyo, she retired as an inventory supervisor. Billie attended Forrest City First Baptist church for many years, later attending Wynne Baptist Church. She was very active and was a competitive runner, had a great sense of humor and was fun loving and determined in everything she did. Among her hobbies was painting, ceramics, woodworking, fishing, and cooking. She was very generous to strangers in need and was a caring mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Calvin and Chalice McCammon, husband, James Laws, one daughter; Jamie Rougeau, one sister; Mettie Ruth McCammon.
Billie is survived by three daughters; Terri Jo Lewis and husband Jack of Forrest City, Janya Rogers and husband Jeff of Bentonville, Gina Lace and husband Greg of Wynne, two sisters; Bettye Taylor of Newport, Jane Laws of Conway, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date for Billie. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in honor of Billie.
