Billy Joe Haire, a resident of Wynne, passed from this life into the next, Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Crestpark Nursing Home, he was 85 years old. He was born August 28, 1937, the son of Major Quinton and Ellen Pearl Fowinkle Haire.
Billy Joe served in the Army National Guard and was proud to be a part of protecting the children at Central High School in Little Rock during the desegregation in 1957. When his children were young, he enjoyed taking them camping. He worked as a certified mechanic for several places throughout his life, but worked for Shelby Tire in Memphis last. He enjoyed watching old shows on TV and listening to gospel music. Billy Joe was a good man, he attended Ridgeview Baptist when he was able and served as a Deacon in the past.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife; Mary Jennell Durham Haire, three sisters: Evelyn Blackwood, Ruth Culver, Mary Farris and one grandson: Tyler Walraven.
Survivors include his two daughters: Lynn Branson and husband Rusty of Benton, Sandra Walraven of Wynne, three brothers: Charlie Haire of Wynne, Andy Howard of Atlanta, Georgia, Raymond Howard of Fayetteville, two sisters: Barbara Hamilton of Wynne, Linda (Doyle) Ball of Caldwell, four grandchildren: Josh Akers, Caleb Akers, Seth Akers, Christopher Walrraven, and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held, Monday, March 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Cogbill Cemetery with Brian Frames officiating.
