Carol Jean (Hammond) Goatcher

Carol Jean Goatcher, 73, a resident of Wynne, departed this life Tuesday, April 11. 2023, at home with her family by her side. She was born in Rochelle, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Ester McClain Hammond.

Carol was a 1967 graduate of Moline High School and worked as a Manager for Taco Bell in Rochelle, Illinois for many years. She was a loving mother and always wiling to help others. Carol became a second mother to many and was loved by everyone who met her. She enjoyed playing bingo and card games with her family and friends. She spoiled her grandchildren and thought all of them “hung the moon”. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; triplets; Howard, Harold, Harlen Hammond, and John Hammond, and one great grandson: Lucien “King” James.

Survivors include one son: Jimmie Goatcher and wife Shawna of Des Arc, two daughters; Teresa Brown and husband Michael of Wynne, Tanya Watson and husband Roy of Wynne, two brothers; Bill Hammond of Pocahontas, Larry Hammond of Rochelle, Illinois, four sisters; Dorothy Johnson, Barb Dodson, Beulah Skelt, and Sandra Hammond all of Illinois, 12 grandchildren; Destiny Goatcher, Maureese McClain, McKinley Watson, Brittney Goatcher, Quin Watson, Zeke Watson, Roy Watson, Jr, Dontriel Watson, Angelica Rhodes, Lateisha Loves, Tatyana Brown, Damien Sims and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Family will hold a memorial service at a later date to be announced.
