Carolyn Hess, 87, a resident of Wynne, departed this life, Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at her home with family and friends by her side. She was born, September 21, 1934, in Helena, Arkansas, the daughter of Floyd and Lillian Holland.
She graduated from Helena High School, and worked in the bookkeeping department at Planters Bank in Forrest City for many years. She spent most of her time taking care of her children and keeping the family in line. She helped her son keep books for his business when she was not camping and fishing at Bear Creek. Carolyn always had a sense of humor even during the hard times.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband; John Hess, daughter; Deana Hess, three brothers; Bill Holland, Gene Holland, Raymond Holland, two sisters; Margaret Edwards and Alice Stewart.
Survivors include her two sons; Tommy Hess of Wynne, Ricky Hess of Forrest City, four grandchildren; Louis Hess, Lindsey Majkrzak, Matt Hess and Lilly Thompson and one great grandchild; Laine Hess.
Family request memorials be made to the Good Shepherd or to St. Jude Children’s hospital.
Ms. Hess requested to be cremated and her cremains buried with her husband in Forrest Park Cemetery. Family will hold burial at a later date.
