Mr. Charles Leland McCoy, 84, a resident of Wynne passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021. Charles was born in Wynne, on November 22, 1937 to Earnest H. & Littie Lee Wigley McCoy.
Charles married the love of his life: Ms. Helen Pillow on June 7, 1959. He was very much a family man and a hard worker. He owned a carpet cleaning business and the later owned and ran the pawn shop in Vanndale. He was a people person and all that knew him took to him right away. Charles was always a good-natured person and he had a soft place in his heart for animals, especially his own dog. He also enjoyed watching the news keeping up with what was going on locally and around the country. His friend and family will miss dearly.
Mr. McCoy was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother: Tommy McCoy.
Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years: Helen McCoy of the home, one son: Christopher McCoy of Wynne, three daughters: Cheryl McCoy of Eureka Springs, Angela McCoy of Wynne, Erin McCoy-Mears of Wynne, one sister: Carolyn Nicholas of Forrest City, four grand children and five great grandchildren.
In leu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
A celebration of life & memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2022, at the Merriman, downtown Wynne, with a potluck meal to follow. Masks will be required.
