Donald “Ray” Hooker, 72, a resident of Palestine, found the Lord and went home, Saturday, September 28, 2024, in Forrest City. He was born, September 23, 1952, in Palestine, the son of Fred Henry and Lillie Devasier Hooker. Ray married Miss Judy Kay Clegg on April 7, 1973.
Ray was a retired farmer, who loved driving the combine, attended the New Shiloh Baptist Church in Colt, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and loved his church family. Ray loved people and was adored by many; he would be surprised to know those whose lives he touched. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Fred and Lillie Hooker, two brothers: Billy Hooker and James Hooker.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years: Judy Hooker of Palestine, one son: Jeremy Hooker and wife Cindy of Palestine, one daughter: Angel Hooker of Forrest City, two brothers: John Hooker and wife Leslie of Missouri, Gene Hooker and wife Betty of Drasco, five sisters: Bernice Thompson of Hamburg, Carolyn Welling of Memphis, Shirley Colvin and husband Gerald of Forrest City, Kay Williams of Palestine, Odell Davis and husband Jackie of Forrest City, five grandchildren: Hailey, Hanna, Savanna, Hallie, Sara, and two great grandchildren arriving soon.
No services will be held.
