Doris Burton, 74, a resident of Wynne, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at her home. She was born, July 16, 1947, in Harrisburg, as her parents, Dalton B. and Dollie Mae Miller Williams, lived at Waldenburg.
Doris was a 1965 graduate of Hickory Ridge High School and worked for ASU as a preschool teacher at the Wynne and Parkin ABC Preschools, retiring in 2011, after 20 years of service. Prior to that she worked in various insurance agencies in Wynne for many years. She attended Tilton Baptist Church where she was the pianist. At a very young age; her older sister and parents returned to the family farm west of Vanndale, where she lived until moving to Wynne in 2012. Doris enjoyed working on Jigsaw and word search puzzles, reading, collecting monkeys and visiting with her friends and high school classmates.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Delora McFarland and one nephew: Perry McFarland.
Survivors include her only child: Jeffrey Burton of Cherry Valley, one niece: Tammy McFarland of Wynne, one nephew: Johnny Ray McFarland of Wynne.
Visitation will be held, Thursday, June 9, from 12 until 2:00 p.m., Funeral services will begin at 2:00 at the Grace Baptist Church in Wynne with burial following in Vanndale Cemetery.
