Edward Watson, Jr., 83, a resident of Wynne, departed this life, Saturday, May 21, 2022, in Jonesboro. He was born August 22, 1938, in Iuka, Mississippi, the son of Ed Watson, Sr. and Ola Nancy McGee Watson.
Growing up Ed worked as a farmer, before an owner/operator Over-The-Road Truck driver and then opened his own Diesel Mechanic shop E & R Repair. He enjoyed fishing, hunting deer and turkey. He was a self-made man, who was always willing to help others. Ed believed in providing for his family and he was happiest when his family was happy. He was the greatest husband and father, and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Bill and Ben Watson, 3 sisters: Edna Leonard, Doris Merrill and Lois Taegtmeyer.
Ed is survived by his wife of sixty-one years; Beatrice Watson of the home, four sons: Eddie Watson and wife Melissa of Wynne, Billy Watson and wife Michelle of Etowah, North Carolina, Bobby Watson and Barry Watson both of Wynne, two daughters: Denise Doyle and husband Duane of Jonesboro, Janette Wright and husband Kenneth of Paragould, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
In keeping with Ed’s wishes, no services will be held.
