Fell B. “Hillbilly” Woodle, Jr., passed from this life, Saturday, October 28, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family and special nurse, Anna Taylor. He was born in Searcy, the son of Fell Brundridge and Virginia Holden Woodle. He married Ms. Sheila Tapley May 13, 1995.
Hillbilly was a 1964 graduate of West Point High School; he entered the Army National Guard right after high school and served for seven years. Hillbilly worked as an OTR truck driver for many years, including driving for Wal Mart for most of the years. He made friends wherever he went. J.R. was a Christian and member of the Vanndale Baptist Church. He was known as the “class clown” in school and never outgrew the reputation, he had a great sense of humor. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering in his shop, taking his dog, Dave, for a ride in his truck, having coffee with friends and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Don Woodle, and one sister Patsy Houston.
Survivors include his wife; Sheila Woodle of Vanndale, four daughters: Stacy Wiley and husband Jason of Searcy, Mitzi Godair and husband Floyd of North Little Rock, Kristie Jarrett and Hollie Ray both of Pocahontas, one sister: Frances Swain of Searcy, seven grandchildren: Lauren Wiley Colton Jarrett, Hailey Williams, Addi Jarrett, Kawner Kercheval, Kameron Kercheval, Ryker Marshall, two great grandchildren: Aubree and Judson Williams.
Visitation will be held, Thursday, November 2, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the Vanndale Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow in Vanndale Cemetery.
