Gina Lee (Walter) Caudell

Gina Caudell completed her final journey on October 15, 2022. She graduated peacefully from this life, on Saturday afternoon at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto hospice in Southaven, MS.

Gina was born on June 5, 1944, in Bald Knob, AR. She was the daughter of a preacher and served the Lord faithfully throughout her life, sharing her gift of music as a celebrated piano player at several churches, including Minor Memorial United Methodist and Wynne Church of God. She loved to recall the story of being baptized in Israel’s Jordan River almost as much as she loved sharing her Werther’s Original candies. In addition to her sweet tooth, she loved Mexican cuisine and Waffle House breakfasts. Gina loved playing nickel-ante poker and celebrating Christmas, where her beautiful, elaborately wrapped presents were famous. She was known for her fantastic sense of humor and generous spirit. She was an accomplished businesswoman and entrepreneur who was loved by all who encountered her. She retired from Gordon’s Jewelers in Jonesboro, AR, in 2012. She was a longtime resident of Wynne, AR, before moving to Horn Lake, MS, in 2014.

Those who loved Gina are invited to celebrate her at a service at 1 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the Wynne Church of God led by Gerald Britton. Visitation will be held from noon until service time. Burial will be at Akin Cemetery in Vanndale following the ceremony.

Gina was preceded to Heaven by her husband, Melvin Caudell; her mother, Leeda Walter; her father, J.D. Walter; her son, Jody Jones; and her sister, Marie Fisher.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Jones, of Horn Lake, MS; her brothers, Doyce Walter of Elizabethtown, NC; and Larry Walter of TN; two grandchildren, Brandon Jones (Dawn) of Fort Smith, AR, and Brittany Hodak (Jeff) of Franklin, TN; three great-grandchildren, and many adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her dog, Shelby, and her cat, Pretty Girl, will miss her dearly.

Pall bearers include Brandon Jones, Jamey Meadows, Adam Fisher, Joey Meadows, and Jackson Meadows.
