Gregory Allen Newby

Gregory Allen Newby, 49, of Wynne, passed away, Friday, July 29, 2022. Greg was born on June 14, 1973 in Wynne the son of Walter and Lois Newby.

After graduating from Cross County High School, Greg was a farmer for most for his adult life working for the Boeckmann Farms. After farming he drove a truck for VXI  as a local driver so he could be home more often. He enjoyed just hanging out with family and friends having cookouts and visiting. His son Matthew said “we will forever cherish memories and hold him close in our hearts.”

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Cody Hunt, two brothers: William Burnette, and Thomas “Pete” Burnette.

He is survived by three sons: Zach Johnson of Mississippi, Matthew Newby of Wynne, Kamden Frymire of Forrest City, two brothers: Joe Newby of Jonesboro, Oscar (Tammy) Newby of Jonesboro, two sisters: Linda King of Batesville, Doris Burnette of Wynne, several nieces and nephews and special friend: Andrea Ramsey.

A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, August 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Bridge Church on Merriman Ave. in Wynne.

A private burial will take place at Johnson Cemetery.

Cross County Funeral Service & Crematory had the honored of handling the arrangements for the Newby family.
