Obituary

Gregory Allen McNew, 61, a resident of Harrisburg, departed this life, Saturday, January 14, 2023, in Jonesboro.  He was born, July 9, 1961, in Newport, the son of Billy Ira and Pearlie O Dean Duffle McNew. He married Miss Donna Jarrett on June 19, 1982.

Greg went to school to become a Riverboat Captain, after becoming licensed, he worked for Sea Corp for over 30 years running the riverboats. He enjoyed his work, fishing, riding the grandchildren on his 4-wheeler, cooking out with family and friends, tinkering with small engines and whatever else he could find. He was always willing to help others and loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Billy, Randy, Tommy and Steve McNew, and one sister; Debra Wilson.

Greg is survived by his wife of forty years: Donna McNew of the home, one son; Casey McNew of Bono, two daughters; Julie Dent and husband Chris of Harrisburg and Autumn Gutierrez and husband Luis of Trumann, four grandchildren.

Family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

Cross County Funeral Service & Crematory was honored to handle the arrangements for the McNew family.
