Harold Poindexter, a lifelong resident of Cross County, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the age of 79. He was born April 22, 1944, in Vanndale, the son of Egbert Clinton “E.C.” and Velma Thompson Poindexter.
He was owner/operator of Cross County Material, attended Three Trees Cowboy Church and was a member of Masonic Lodge #494. Harold was a workaholic but would take time off to play golf or have breakfast with his friends at the “liar’s table.” He enjoyed sitting by a good fire and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Polly Ann Sutherland Poindexter; one brother, Douglas Poindexer; and three sisters, Patsy Hale, Lucille Ketchum and Virginia Weins.
Survivors include one son, Brad Poindexter and wife Amy, of Wynne; one daughter, Lori Poindexter Graham and husband Marty, of Morganza, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Eli (Emily) Graham, Morgan Graham (Shawn) Wilkes, and Seth Poindexter; along with four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on December 13th at Three Trees Cowboy Church. Inurnment will be at a later date.
