Haynes Ragsdale Obituary

Haynes Reece Ragsdale, a resident of Wynne, went to be with Jesus, Saturday, March 5, 2022 in Little Rock. He was born October 10, 1942 in Cardon Bottom, Arkansas the son of Anderson and Rosa Garner Ragsdale. He married Miss Susanne Benderman on July 11, 1974.

Haynes attended Dardenelle schools and EACC for 2 years. He worked for Arkla Gas Company for many years as a manager, then as district manager before retiring in 1998. Haynes’ life reflected Jesus in every way, and he was a true Christian man willing to help others in need behind the scenes. He was a wonderful and thoughtful husband and father and believed that evenings were a time for family.  He was a great listener, always concerned about others’ lives and interests. After retiring he became a man of many short-term hobbies, i.e., fly fishing, hunting, camping, outdoor cast iron cooking, photography, dog training, and bread making just to name a few. He and Susanne served the Lord in Egypt and Vermont. There is a lot to say about Haynes. He was a man of his word, honest, trustworthy, kind, hardworking and had a big sense of humor.

Mr. Ragsdale was preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Jerry Lynn Ragsdale.

Surviving is the love of his life: Susanne Ragsdale of the home, two sons: Drew Smith and wife Stephanie of Arkadelphia, Phillip Smith and wife Mary of Stafford, Virginia, four daughters: Tracie Mathis and husband Gary of Russellville, Jana Wells and husband Adam of Little Rock, Stacey Dunavant and husband Matt of Wynne, Juliana Garlington and husband Andy of Wynne, one brother: Rondell “Mutt” Parker of Texas, fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
