“Buddy” Douglas of Forrest City, Arkansas passed away on April 13, 2020, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
He was born on September 1, 1947, in Wynne to Mr. Hilliard Guy Douglas and Gladys Lorene “Miller” Douglas.
Buddy was employed at Halstead in Wynne for many years, he later was a truck driver for St. Francis County Farmers Association for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his father and one son: Richard Glenn “Richie” Douglas, five sisters: Reba Cotton, Joann Jones, Marie Sibley, Christine Fleetwood and Joyce Fields.
Buddy is survived by his mother: Gladys Douglas of Wynne, 5 daughters: Kimberleigh Dorobek of Mississippi, Candy McCollum of Wynne, Deshay Hood of Tyronza, Billie Morales of Cold Water, Mississippi and Glenda Smith of Brookland, Arkansas, 4 brothers: Richard “Dick” Douglas of Wynne, Roger Darrell Douglas and wife Jenny of Wynne, Steve Douglas and wife Susan of Wynne, and Rolland “Hoss” Douglas and wife Angie of Wynne, 3 sisters: Diann Martin and husband Garland of Harrisburg, Connie Frazier Conner of Wynne, Nancy Earls of Weiner, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, great and great-great-grand nieces and nephews.
Buddy enjoyed raising, training and riding his horses as well as teaching his kids and grandkids to ride. He was a member of the NCA Horse Association, where he enjoyed competing int e speed, flag, and barrel pick events. Buddy enjoyed spending time with his horse showing friends and family. He also was known for nursing neglected horses back to health. He took a lot of pleasure raising a garden and growing big tomatoes, he would share the fruits of his labor with family and friends. Buddy’s favorite pass tines were family gatherings and cookouts, riding horses and deer hunting with his brothers and nephews as well as working in the crops and hauling grain for Douglas Farms. Buddy never met a stranger and he will be greatly missed by a host of family and friends.
Due to the Corona Virus stipulations on public gatherings, the family plans following cremation are uncertain at this time.
