James Leroy Hall, Jr., 74, a resident of Parkin, departed this life, Monday, March 2, 2026, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born on November 24, 951, in Elkton, Maryland, the son of James Leroy, Sr and Elsie Irene McDonald Hall. He married Miss Vicky Lynn Hogland on April 13, 2007.
James dedicated a decade of his life to the United States Army, serving from 1973 until 1983. During his military career, he was stationed in Germany and Greece, where he fulfilled his duties with pride and commitment. He achieved the rank of Sergeant before leaving the Army, a testament to his leadership and work ethic. Following his military service, James transitioned into the transportation industry, working for Damron Trucking in Counts, Tennessee. He spent several years as a semi-truck driver, demonstrating reliability and dedication in his role. After retiring from trucking, James continued his service to the community by working as a Code Enforcement officer in Parkin, a position he held until recently. Outside of work, James enjoyed working on small engines and tinkering during his spare time. He was known for his easy-going nature, warm smile, and ability to make friends wherever he went. Above all, James was a devoted husband who cherished time spent with his family and friends, creating lasting memories with those he loved.
James was preceded in death by his parents: James, Sr and Elsie Hall.
Survivors include his wife of eighteen years: Vicky Lynn Hall of the home, one son: Terry Hall of Earle, one daughter: Kristy Hall and husband Bart of Tennessee, one brother: Richard Hall of Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania, two sisters: Delores Powers of Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania, Tamela Smith of Canton, Georgia, three grandchildren: Tristian, Paige, Graham and several great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
