James “Jim” Deward Davis, 75, a resident of Wynne, went to be with his Lord and wife, Thursday, January 6, 2022, in Jonesboro. He was born December 12, 1946, in Harrisburg, the son of Deward Denton and Betty Jewel Thomas Davis.
Jim was a 1965 graduate of Harrisburg High School, where he was a very good athlete. He married Miss Edna Jo Partain, July 2, 1965 and worked as parts manager for John Deere/Greenway for 36 years before retiring. He was a member of the Wynne Church of God and read his bible every night. Jim enjoyed watching sports 24/7, especially the Razorbacks, hunting, fishing and bragging about his catches! His favorite pastime was watching his kids and grandkids play ball, never missing a game. Jim was a hard worker, he was tough, but a very nice guy, always kind to everyone he met. He had a lot of common sense and was a practical joker, always smiling and loved by everyone who knew him. His favorite pastime was being with his grandchildren and the Lord, his theory was God, family, and food! He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Deward and Betty Davis, wife; Edna Jo Davis, two brothers; Doyle and Phil Davis, and one sister; Vickie Fullbright.
Survivors include; one son: Jimmy Lee Davis of Wynne, one daughter: JoLynn Bouland and husband Chris of Wynne, one brother; Mickeal Davis and wife Roberta of Norfolk, one sister; Elane Johnson and husband Rickey of Cherry Valley, brother-in-law; Golden Fullbright, sister-in-law; Betsy Davis of Harrisburg, three grandchildren; Triston Davis, Maddux Davis, Chloie Burch and husband Matt, one great grandchild; Ansleigh Burch, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11-1:00 Monday, January 10, at the Wynne Church of God, funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Harrisburg.
