Jennie Massie passed away after a long illness, on February 3, 2020 in Jonesboro, Arkansas with her family by her side. She was born in Wynne, Arkansas on November 20, 1952 to John Ben (JB) and Betty Jane “Hamric” Banton
Jennie was a 1970 graduate of Cross County High School and later worked with American Greetings for about 10 years. She loved and enjoyed going to Lake View Missionary Baptist Church where she has been a member for many years. Some of her favorite pass times were crocheting and tending her flowers. Jennie said “she loved spending time with her husband, grandchildren and her girls”.
Mrs. Massie was proceeded in death by her parents: JB and Betty Banton, and one sister: Cheryl Pilcher.
Jennie is survived by her husband: “Spud” Massie of the home, three daughters: Laura (Charles) Dortch of District Heights, Maryland, Melanie (Larry) Smith of Wynne, Arkansas, Tonya Parsons of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a special niece: Trisha (Dale) Johnson of Boonville, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Lake View Missionary Baptist Church in Wynne located on Highway 193 North. Visitation will start at 10:00 am before the funeral service. Interment will be in Halk Cemetery in Wynne.
