Jerry Milford Johncox, 84, a resident of Vanndale, departed this life, Saturday, April 14, 2025, in the comfort of his home with family by his side. He was born, January 10, 1941, in Hudson, Michigan, the son of Kenneth John Johncox and Berneita Arlene Carpenter Johncox.
Jerry graduated from Hudson, Michigan High School and earned his associate’s degree in agriculture, he also served in the US Army. He loved to fish and built a dock on the pond just to take his grandkids fishing. He enjoyed many adventures on his pontoon boat with his family. Jerry was the kind of guy who knew a little bit about everything, he was very intelligent but not boisterous about it. He owned and operated Jerry’s Greenhouse in Brinkley for many years before retiring to Vanndale.
He was preceded in death by his father: Kenneth Johncox, mother: Berneita Kelley, and one sister: Marlene Ann Johncox.
Survivors include his best friend and caregiver: Thelma Johncox of Vanndale, seven daughters: Melinda Cagle and her husband Richard, Debbie Edwards and her husband Greg, Tammy Martin all of Mississippi, Sherri Hess of Wynne, Marsha Cohn of Forrest City, Karen Pitts of Wynne, Jenni Caskey of Palestine, fourteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
The family will hold a private memorial service with Military Honors at a later date.
