Joe Voyles Obituary

Joe Vernon Voyles of Hooks, Texas passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 9, 2020.

He was born on September 18, 1954 in Hughes, Arkansas to Grady Van Oliver and Mary Alice “Turner” Voyles.

Vernon was a welder by trade for most of his adult life but was also a very good carpenter. He enjoyed spending time with family when he was able and after retirement, he even worked some odds and end jobs with his twin sister Betty whom he was very close to all his life. Vernon also liked hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Vernon was proceeded in death by both of his parents: Grady Voyles and Mary Bullard and one brother: Donald Voyles.

Mr. Voyles is survived by his sons: Joe and Grady Voyles of Texarkana, daughters: Calista Powers of Texarkana, LaDena Young of Fouke, Chloe Voyles of Dardanelle, Stepchildren: Kevin, Justin, and Stephanie Simek all of Houston, Texas, Brothers: John Voyles of Waldo AR, Jody Cunningham of Forrest City, Kevin Laird of Colt, Sisters: Dotty Meyers of Hook, TX, his twin: Betty Bearden of Dardanelle, Patty Dittman of New Mexico, Julie Mcbay of Texarkana, Gerri Leverrett of Georgia, Mitzi Boeckmann of Wynne, and Renee Shelton of TN. He also has 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
