Johanna “Jo” Cunningham Cogburn of Forrest City, AR passed away peacefully with her family by her side Thursday, June 24 at her home. She was born on November 3, 1925 to Charles G. and Jane Viola “Elliott” Rennicke in Waldenburg, AR.
Ms. Cogburn was a strong, independent, and loving wife and mother. She was proud to be a Christian who attended the Church of Christ in Forrest City. She worked for many years as a registered nurse at Forrest City Memorial Hospital and later became the director of nursing at Crestpark Nursing Home in Forrest City. Jo enjoyed crossword puzzles, scrabble, reading, sewing, crocheting, and making all kinds of stained-glass projects in her spare time.
Johanna was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands: John Cunningham, Sr. and Harold Cogburn, one daughter: Jill Shelton, three brothers: Judwin, Darrell and Kenneth I Rennicke, and two sisters: Geneva Tilley, and Mary “Lou” Scholze.
Ms. Cogburn is survived by two sons: John Cunningham, Jr. of Springdale, Jody Cunningham of Forrest City, one daughter: Judy Shurtz of Colt, 11 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
There will be no services for Ms. Cogburn as this was her request.
