John William Bury, 63, a resident of Forrest City, departed this life, Thursday, October 16, 2025, at his home unexpectantly. He was born, August 21, 1962, the son of Charles R. and Marlene Farrell Bury. He married Miss Janice Myers on December 25, 2001.
John grew up and graduated high school in South Dakota, eventually moving to Forrest City where he worked in the farming industry. He owned and operated J Bury Warehouse (cotton seed warehouse) in Helena for many years. He enjoyed fishing and working on anything John Deere, mostly tractors and lawn mowers. John always enjoyed visiting with all his customers, he had a good sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Marlene Bury, one brother: Tom Bury, one sister: Janeen Bury Gumphrey and his step daughter: Libby Moore.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-four years: Janice Bury of Forrest City, step-son: Robert Lindsey of Corinth, Mississippi, two brothers: Steve Bury of Odessa, Minnesota, Jerry Bury of Milbank, South Dakota, nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
John’s wishes were to be cremated and then buried in South Dakota with his family. No services will be held here.
