Johnny Ray “JR” McFarland, 66, a resident of Crestpark Nursing Home, went to be with his Lord, Saturday, January 25, 2025, in Jonesboro. He was born on April 23, 1958, in Wynne, the son of John Venton and Delora Deen Williams McFarland.
JR was a 1976 graduate and Valedictorian of Cross County High School, he attended ASU in Jonesboro, taking Business Financial classes. He worked for the First National Bank as a former Senior Vice President and a Lending Officer for many years, he also farmed for himself in and around the Coldwater area. JR was a member of the Sharpes Chapel Church of God, where he helped setup the sound system and at whatever else was needed. He also helped as a technician for a Radio Broadcasting company, JR was very intelligent and charismatic. He enjoyed serving God, fellowship with others, playing the Tenor Saxaphone and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Delora McFarland, one brother: Perry McFarland, Uncle: Harry McFarland, Aunt: Doris Burton.
Survivors include his Son: John Hayden McFarland and wife Jennifer of Pleasant Plains, Daughter: Johanna Uribe of Wynne, one sister: Tammy McFarland of Wynne, Sister-in-Law: Diane Baldridge of Rose Bud, Aunt: Barbara McFarland of Wynne, three grandchildren: John Waylon McFarland, June McFarland both of Pleasant Plains, Sophia Sanders of Wynne and a host of other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held, Friday, January 31st, at the Sharpes Chapel Church of God from 1:00 until service time at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Vanndale Cemetery.
