Karen Leigh Sanders Spencer, 62, a resident of Wynne, went to be with her lord and savior Saturday May 10th in her home. She was born on December 4, 1962 in Wynne, AR, the daughter of Owens Lee Sanders and Sibbie (Collins) Sanders. Karen had many friends, but the closest to her was previous husband Michael Hudson.
Although she had personal struggles throughout her life, those that knew her best knew her for far more. Karen had a dynamic presence. When she worked, she worked hard. She loved writing and was a pretty good poet. She loved playing video poker, Yahtzee and card games. With sharp wit and charm, she was a great friend to many.
Though her journey was marked by hardships, Karen was a person of complexity and spirit. In her own way she taught us resilience and strength, and her life reminded us of the importance of the strength it takes to face adversity. She will be remembered, and her memory will continue in the hearts of those who knew her beyond her struggles.
She was preceded in death Parents: Owens Lee and Sibbie (Collins) Sanders, Brother: Billy Sanders and her grandparents.
Survivors include: One Son: Tye (Keona) Spencer, Three Daughters: Brandy (Brandon) White, Mandy (Bobby) Fitts, Anna (Taylor) Sigmon, Four Sisters: Rita Cash, Charlotte (Lyle) McConnell, Nancy (David) Taylor and Melissa (John L) Holland, One Brother: Don (Sharon) Sanders and several grandchildren.
Cross County Funeral Service & Crematory was privileged to handle the arrangements for the Sanders family.
