Larry Duane Henson

Larry Duane “The Unc” Henson, passed away, Friday, November 17, 2023, at CrossRidge Hospital in Wynne at the age of 77. He was born, August 13, 1946, in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Hobert and Velma George Henson.

He served as a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Marines during the Viet Nam war and worked as a concrete finisher for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Marsha Henson, one son: Larry Henson, Jr., one daughter: Carrie Appling, four brothers: Frankie, Bob, David and Joe Henson, and two sisters: Shirley Walker and Eloise Henson.

Larry is survived by two brothers: Donald Henson of Elgin, Illinois, Lester Henson of Thomasville, Georgia, one sister: Beverly Jackson of Wynne, two grandchildren: Meghan and Will Appling both of Paragould, a host of nieces and nephews including two special nieces: Alayna Rose and Stormie Alyse whom all loved “The Unc” very much.

The family will hold a private burial service at a later date and wishes any donations in lieu of flowers go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Cross County Funeral Service & Crematory was honored with handling the arrangements for the Henson family.
