Mary Glen Matthews, 86, a resident of Wynne, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. She was born December 19, 1935, in Wynne, the daughter of Lee and Flora May Gordon Hamrick.
Mrs. Matthews worked as a cashier for the Big Star in Parkin for many years and was a member of the Parkin First Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching the RFD TV station, soap operas and game shows, as well as playing canasta, bowling, listening to music. Mary’s greatest joy came from fishing and camping with her late husband and visiting with her family and friends. She loved her church and her family; she will be greatly missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her father; Lee Hamrick, mother; Floy May Studyvin, husband; Roy Matthews, daughter; Patricia Storekel, grandson; Danny Lee Baker, II, great-great granddaughter; Hailey Casalman.
Survivors include one son: Roy Edward Matthews of Wynne, two daughters: Sandra Matthews of Wynne, Linda Casalman and husband Glen of Wynne, three brothers: Jerry Hamrick of Wynne, Jim Hamrick and Ken Burton of Marion, Mike Hamrick of Wynne, three sisters; Sarah Carter of Wynne, Glenda Barber of Palestine, Debra Swink of Jonesboro, one brother-in-law: Ray Matthews of Wynne, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held, Saturday, October 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Parkin Cemetery.
