Max Randolph “Randy” Jones, age 79, was a beloved resident of Wynne who passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at RiverRidge Rehab in Wynne. He was born on February 1, 1946, in Palestine, the son of William “Bill” Anderson and Claudia Bell Jumper Jones. On April 8, 2012, Randy married Ms. Brenda Joyce Edwards, who became his devoted partner for the years that followed.
Max “Randy” Jones proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, earning a Bronze Star Medal, he was stationed aboard the USS Stoddard. Randy served on the Stoddard in 1968 and 1969, carrying out his duties with dedication and a quiet strength, which is an enduring point of pride for his family and all who knew him.
Randy worked for Arkla Gas company in his early career, then dedicated many years of his career to working as a driver for Kimberly Clark. Afterwards, he spent about five years working independently before concluding his professional journey as a driver for Wal-Mart, retiring after a fulfilling career. He was known for his deep appreciation of history, as well as his love of duck and squirrel hunting. Randy also enjoyed traveling, playing cards with friends, and took great joy in making Joyce happy. In addition to his primary career, he spent some time working in construction and was always recognized for being very family-oriented, sincere, and a devoted husband who truly cherished his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Claudia Jones.
Randy is survived by his loving wife of twenty-one years, Joyce Jones of the home; two sons, Darren Jones and his wife Kelly of Springdale, and Jason Barnes and his wife Linda of Flora, Mississippi; one daughter, Delicia Loveless of Jackson, Tennessee; two brothers, Stanley Jones of Forrest City and Chris Jones of Prairie Grove; two sisters, Billie Sue Jennings of Brinkley and Linda Baugh of Mountain Home; four grandchildren: Anna Harris, Devin Stayton, Tyler Poplin, Logan Jones, ten great-grandchildren; and his two cherished cats, Dixie and Tom.
A memorial service will be held, Thursday, January 8th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Union Avenue Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
