SERVICE UPDATE
Naomi Fay Burnett,79, a resident of Colt, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at her home. She was born, June 29, 1946, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of William Willie and Annie Bell Cox Lumley. She married Larry Buford Burnett, on December 9th, 1995.
Naomi was a devoted member of the former Faith Fellowship Church, where she found spiritual fulfillment and community. She dedicated more than twenty years of her career as a top stitcher at Addison Shoe Factory, demonstrating both skill and commitment in her work. Naomi was well known for her joyful and caring nature; she was often described as sweet yet undeniably feisty. Her interests included reading, enjoying television programs such as westerns and Law & Order, sewing, and cooking. Above all, she cherished every opportunity to spend time with her family, which brought her the greatest happiness.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents: William and Annie Lumley, one daughter: Laura May Hicks, two brothers: Wayne and Stephen Lumley and two sisters: Elizabeth and Mary Jean Lumley.
Survivors include her husband of thirty years: Larry Burnett of the home, three sons: Donnie Dewitt and wife Jennifer of Wynne, Chris Dewitt and wife Lori of Wynne, Larry Burnett, Jr and wife Robbie of Colt, two daughters: Lisa Ellis and husband Chris of Greenbrier, Leann Williams and Anthony of Wynne, twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 27th, at 11:00 a.m. in Cogbill Cemetery.
