Owen Lamar Hogans, 61, a resident of El Dorado, departed this life at his home on March 26, 2023. He was born in Hughes, the son of William Leo and Virginia (Rios) Hogans.
Owen worked as a mechanic for the Union County Highway Department, he enjoyed all of his co-workers. He loved to fix everything, even if it wasn’t broken! He was always busy doing things like taking scenic pictures, riding his motorcycle, drinking Coke, listening to Rock n Roll music and helping others. He was a sweet, loving and big hearted man, who loved joking around and laughing with his dry sense of humor. Owen will be greatly missed by his co-workers, friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; William Leo Hogans and Virginia Vasseau, wife: Sheila Gaye Ballard Hogans, one brother; Norman Hogans, one sister; Julia Gore.
Survivors include one son; Owen Hogans, II of Paragould, two daughters; Kassandra Hogans of Jonesboro, Cearra Hogans-Mason and husband Denzel of Wynne, three brothers; Charles Hogans of Wynne, William Hogans, Jr of West Palm Beach, Florida, Richard Hogans of Bryant, five sisters; Aubrey McGuire of Forrest City, Betty Cooper of Forrest City, Ava McCain of Lowell, Lee Kernodle of Olive Branch Mississippi, Tonya White of Redfield, three grandchildren; Sophia Jackson, Dezariah Mason and Delayza Mason.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 8th starting at 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at the Fondren Memorial Bible Church in Wynne. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p. m. at the church. A private burial will take place at a later time.
