Pauline Josephine Carlew, 94, a resident of Wynne, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Thursday, May 8. 2025 in Southaven, Mississippi. She was born, June 28, 1930, in Balch, Arkansas, the daughter of Theodore Rosevelt and Vina Mae Evins Balch.
Pauline worked in sales at Southern Furniture for many years she was a longtime member of the Wynne Church of Christ and was very active in the Children’s Home in Paragould, where she received her “servant’s towel” for her work there. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, gardening, refinishing furniture and taking care of others. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Theodore and Vina Balch, husband: Mervin Yvonne Carlew, one son: Kenneth Carlew, two daughters: Kelly Bailey, Salley Garner, one brother: Billy Balch, and one sister: Bonnie Hunter.
Survivors include: one daughter: Jeanie McCollum of Southaven, MS, one sister: Scottie Sue Hess of Amagon, eight grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held, Monday, May 12th at the Wynne Church of Christ from 12:00-1:00, a memorial service will follow in the church. A private burial will be held in Balch-Johnston Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Children’s Home, 5515 Walcott Rd, Paragould, AR 72450
