Pauline "Polly" Marie (Boeckmann) Davis

Pauline Marie Davis, 89, a resident of Wynne, went to be with her heavenly Father, Monday, September 19, 2022, at home surrounded by family.  She was born, August 2, 1933, in Wynne, the daughter of Henry Charles, Sr. and Rose Mary Bieker Boeckmann.

Polly was a 1950 graduate of Holy Angels Academy in Jonesboro and worked as a teletype operator for TWA in Kansas City for a couple of years before returning to Wynne and marrying Mr. Arthur “Shorty” Davis, on May 1, 1954, together they raised four children. Polly was a member of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church where she served as Choir Director for many years in Wynne and McCrory, cared for the Altar linens for over 40 years, was a member of the Altar Society, Mother’s Club, Women’s Guild and a CCD teacher. Polly loved to sing, sew, garden and could make the best homemade bread. She was the caregiver to many family members, worked on the farm, driving a tractor, feeding the animals and raising her family, including a bonus child she raised as her own. She is remembered as a good faithful woman, who was always there for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Arthur Clarence “Shorty” Davis, five brothers: Henry Boeckmann, Jr., Otto Boeckmann, Charles Boeckmann, Bill Boeckmann, Bud Boeckmann, four sisters: Joan Hess, Edith Buehnerkemper, Cecilia Diener, and Beth Frien.

Survivors include her three sons: Jeff Davis of Wynne, Morgan Davis and wife Sandra of Wynne, Chris Davis and wife Kim of Wynne, two daughters: Lelia Spain and husband Keith of Wynne and Valerie Moody and husband Chad of Lake City, four sisters-in-law: Ruth Woods, of Colt, Margie Hess of Wynne, Lois Davis of Springdale and Dorothy Boeckmann of Wynne, eleven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one Great-Great grandchild and numerous other relatives and friends.

Rosary will be held, Thursday, September 22, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, visitation will be from 8:45 until 9:45 a.m. at the church with funeral mass following at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery.

Cross County Funeral Service and Crematory was honored with assisting the Davis family with arrangements.
