Peggy Ann (Thomas) Chestnut

Mrs. Peggy Ann Chestnut, 74, a resident of Weiner, departed this life, Monday, April 12, 2021, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center, in Jonesboro. She was born, December 20, 1946, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama the daughter of Carless and Agnes Marie Hyche Thomas.

Peggy enjoyed reading Harlequin romance novels, deer hunting, flower gardening, and hosting company, especially the duck hunters. She loved to go riding around and stopping at Hogue’s Lake. She was a member of the National Honor Society and worked as an RN before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters; Martha Holladay and Ruby "Rebecca" Chestnut, one brother; Sammy Thomas, two sisters; Shirley McDowell and Patsy Newman.

Peggy is survived by her husband; Ray Allen Chestnut, Sisters-in-Law; Brenda Coley and Kitty Loyd, several neices and nephews and her special friends; Paula Craft and Gloria Greeno.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the Weiner First Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery in Weiner.
