Robert "Mike" Spivey, Sr. Obituary

Robert Michael Spivey, Sr., 80, a resident of Forrest City, departed this life, Friday, February 6, 2026, at Methodist hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born, September 17, 1945, in Forrest City, the son of Robert Massey Spivey and Jenny “Lucille” Franks Spivey. He married Miss Mary Arrena Brown on November 27, 1963.

Mike graduated from Forrest City High School in 1963. The following year, he joined the United States Air Force, where he served honorably until 1969, concluding his military service with the rank of Sergeant. After his time in the Air Force, Mike began working alongside his father, hanging wallpaper and painting. Over time, he established his own business, M & M Construction, which he operated with his wife for nearly fifty years. In the last year of his life, Mike devoted himself to caring for his wife after she became ill, demonstrating his deep love and commitment to his family. As a young man, Mike enjoyed playing baseball and later coached his children in the sport. He was a passionate Razorback fan and collected various Razorback sports memorabilia. Known for his friendly nature, Mike never met a stranger and was recognized as a caring individual who readily helped those in need. He was always active, finding joy in duck hunting, fishing, cooking, and woodworking. Above all, Mike cherished his family, with a special devotion to his beloved wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Jenny Spivey, one brother: Ronald “Ronnie” Spivey and a great-grandchild: Aven Gray Butler.
