Ruth (Spears) Brewington

Ruth Brewington, 85, a resident of Cherry Valley, departed this life, Saturday, November 4, 2023, in Memphis. She was born, June 18, 1938, in Heth, the daughter of Mr. Spears and Mildred Flowers Spears Mitchell.

She was a 1955 graduate of Flint, Michigan High School. Ruth was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family, her pork chops were the best! She enjoyed reading her bible, raising kids and looking at the colors of fall and watching a snowfall. Ruth was the family peace keeper, slow to temper and very laid back. She always was caring, loving and took care of her family especially when they were sick. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Harold Brewington, and a son Joey Brewington.

Survivors include two sons: Scott Brewington and Todd Brewington both of Cherry Valley, three brothers: Tim Mitchell, Jerry Mitchell, Robert Mitchell all of Michigan, three sisters: Judy Jacot and Brenda Hauxwell, Ginger Annette Kohl, all of Michigan, ten grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, her dog: Doc and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held, Thursday evening from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at the Smith Chapel Church. Following her wishes, she will be cremated.
