Sarah Boone Obituary

Sarah Mae Boone, 78, a resident of Hickory Ridge, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, March 26, 2022.  She was born, September 17, 1943, in Conway, Arkansas, the daughter of Elmer Lee, Sr. and Margaret Lucille Gray Cochran. She married Mr. Nevil Boone on September 10, 1960.

Sarah grew up in Batesville and was a member of the Tilton Methodist Church, served on the Cross County Hospital Board, was also a member of Crowley’s Ridge Women’s Golf Club and Town & County Garden Club. She spent most of her adulthood as a homemaker, but also worked as a teller at Cross County Bank for a few years and was the farm secretary and bookkeeper and also drove a tractor for the farm. She stayed busy watching and taking her children to their sporting events and practices. Sarah was a good cook and got up early to make a full breakfast for her family as they grew up. She enjoyed helping out with the grandchildren, always making her family number one in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and only daughter: Teal Boone.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-one years: Nevil Boone of the home, only son: Andy Boone and his wife Leslie of Wynne, Arkansas, one brother: Elmer Cochran, Jr. of Batesville, Arkansas, one sister: Mary Woodsmall of Batesville, Arkansas, three grandchildren: Olivia Boone Brown of Dallas, Texas, Caroline Boone Woods of Springfield, Missouri, Tessa Boone of Wynne, Arkansas, and one great grandson: Fletcher Woods of Springfield, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, family request memorials be made to the Tilton Methodist Church or to Cross County Museum.
