Sheila Louise Rodgers, 66, a resident of Wynne, departed this life, Sunday, January 4, 2026, at her home. She was born, December 4, 1959, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Albert and Libby (Bernard) Taylor.
Sheila was born and raised in Memphis, where she completed her education at Shelby County High School, graduating with the class of 1978. For approximately seven years, she worked as a bus driver for the Fauquier County, Virginia schools. Sheila cherished her time with the children on her route, often playing music for them to enjoy during their rides.
Her home was affectionately known as "grand central station" to the many neighborhood children—friends of her own children and those from the community—whom she welcomed and fed regularly. Sheila was known for her generosity and nurturing spirit within her neighborhood.
In her leisure time, Sheila found joy in working in her yard and creating jewelry. She had a deep love for animals and a passion for music of all genres, with a particular fondness for Led Zeppelin. Her vibrant personality was often described as that of a “hippy” with a positive outlook, a loving smile, and open arms for all. Sheila especially enjoyed mornings and was an enthusiastic baker, best known for her dressing and cakes. Above all, she loved life and her family, and she will be dearly missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Albert and Libby Taylor, one sister: Vickie Taylor, one grandson: Owen Collins.
Survivors include her husband: Jody Ray Rodgers of Wynne, three sons: Cory Edwards and his wife Kirstie of Seattle, Washington, Jacob Rodgers of Jonesboro, Caleb Downing and Marie of Wynne, four daughters: Amy Collins of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Brittney Roy and husband Matt of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Jessica Edwards and Brad of Manness, Virginia, Dana Rodgers of Wynne, seven grandchildren: Oliver Roy, Gwyneth Roy, Everett Collins, Balin Collins, Destiny Bouck, Logan Bouck and Maxwell Edwards, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will hold a private memorial service for Sheila at a later date.
