Shelia Christine “Kris” Hedge, 73, a resident of Harrisburg, departed this life, Sunday, August 18, 2024, in Memphis. She was born, June 11, 1951 in Harrisburg the daughter of James Earnest and Willie Allene Walls Hedge.
Kris worked as a security guard at St. Bernard’s hospital for a while and also did some factory work. She enjoyed playing games such as horse shoes, cornhole, Yahtzee, playing guitar and singing. Kris loved to fish, collect antiques, go to yard sales and “junkin”. She was always happy and loved flower gardening, having food and fun with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James and Willie Hedge, only daughter: Crystal Dwan Courtney, two brothers: Jerry and Tommy Hedge, one sister: Earnestine Carter.
Survivors include: three brothers: David Hedge of Jonesboro, Tony Hedge of Shirley, Rickey Hedge of Harrisburg, three sisters: Jo Ann White of Harrisburg, Peggy Costner of Weiner, Norma Hedge of Jonesboro, a special niece that she raised: Alana Hedge and many other nieces and nephews and other family members.
The family will hold a memorial service, on September 21, 2024 from Noon until the fun is over, at the Poinsett State Park picnic area. This will be a potluck with food and games in honor of Kris.
