Stanley LeRoy Pohl, 72, a resident of Wynne, Arkansas, formerly of Mendota, Illinois, departed this life, Saturday, October 2, 2021, in Jonesboro. He was born January 17, 1949, in Mendota, Illinois, the son of William L. and Margaret Rhodes Pohl.
Mr. Pohl was a 1969 graduate of Mendota High School, where he was a member of the track team. After high school, he joined the US Air Force, serving from 1970 until 1974, making the rank of Sargent. Stanley spent 3 years in college studying Computer Science. At some point in his life he moved to Wynne, Arkansas, working at different Co-Ops in many different capacities. He was a Chicago Cubs fan and loved watching all sports on TV and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Francis “Whitey” Pohl, Arthur Pohl, David Pohl and one sister; Betty Soedler.
Stanley is survived by his longtime girlfriend; Cathy Hamilton of Wynne, only child; Matthew Bijold of Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Mendota, IL, cremains will be buried at the Restland Cemetery in Mendota.
