Theodore Mendez, Jr

Theodore Mendez, Jr, a resident of Hughes, passed away, Wednesday, September 25, 2024. In Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 77. He was born, October 3, 1946, in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Theodore, Sr. and Guadelupe Hernadez Mendez.

Mr. Mendez had no formal education, but worked hard as a farm hand for the H.T. Dillahunty Farms to support his family. He was a great friend, good provider, known as an honest, well-respected man who always had time for everyone and would help anyone in need, especially his children. Theodore enjoyed fishing, riding around and piddlin’ with things. He was a wonderful dad and loved his family above everything. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Theodore Mendez, III, and one daughter; Lisa Sellis.

Survivors include his loving life companion: Mona McCool of Hughes, one son; Jonathan Mendez of Crawfordsville, four daughters; Sherry Landeros o and her husband Pedro Silva of Dallas, Texas, Teresa Mendez of Dallas, Texas, Nocole Mendez of Crawfordsville, Morgan Murcherson of Crawfordsville, one brother; Jesse Mendez of Hughes, one sister; Martha Mendoza of Michigan, seven grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
