Therlene Louise Hancock, a longtime resident of Forrest City, went to be with her Lord, Friday, August 13, 2021, at the age of 80. She was born, February 15, 1941, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Vance Rowland and Yolonde Mary Clarambeau Jaynes.
Therlene attended Flint Central High School before marrying Mr. Tommy Hancock, August 30, 1958. She worked as a manager for many different stores throughout her career, but was best at being a Mom! She enjoyed playing games with her family, reading especially the Bible. Therlene was a very caring and friendly woman and was loved by all who knew her. She never had a bad word to say about anybody and loved spending time with her grandchildren every chance she got. She will be greatly missed by al who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson; Michael Hancock.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-three years; Tommy Lee Hancock of the home, two sons; Roland Hancock and wife Terri of San Diego, California, Clifford Hancock and wife Amy of Brentwood, Missouri, four daughters; Alanna Scheffer and husband Joseph of Cabot, Mardell Sexton of Forrest City, Terrylnn Hirtz and husband James of Bartlett, Tennessee, Crystal Scherer and husband Jeff of Magnolia, Texas, two sisters; Wythel Bacon of Swartz Creek, Michigan and Juanita Curtis of Hopkins, Michigan, seventeen grandchildren and 21 Great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Forrest City, with visitation prior to the service at 10:00.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research hospital.
