Ms. Venita Boggan of Wynne, passed away peacefully, Thursday, April 21, at her home at the age of 92. She was born in Hayti, Missouri, on October 5, 1930 to Jack Addison and Nellie Gertrude “Massa” Southern.
Venita was of the Christian faith and regularly attended services at Wynne Baptist Church when she was able. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and going on mission trips as much as possible. She loved people and loved even more when she was able to lead someone to Christ. Venita worked for many years as a secretary for Farmers Home Administration. Later she worked as a legal secretary and served as president of Mississippi Legal Secretary Association for a period of time. She was very much a sports fan of the Razorbacks and Mississippi State Bulldogs. Venita enjoyed singing, telling jokes, but playing golf was one of her favorite things to do.
Ms. Boggan was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Alvin Allen and James Boggan, one son: Jack Allen, 4 brothers: Pete, A.V., Novice, and Bill Southern.
Venita is survived by 3 sons: Andy (Joyce) Allen of Greenbrier, AR, Terry (Tina Wilson) Allen of Wynne, Lance (Donna) Allen of Maddison, MS, one sister: Veda Harbison of Dallas, TX, seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at noon, Monday, April 25th at Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne. A short visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until time for the service at the cemetery.
