Virginia Mae (Alexander) Stephens

Virginia Stephens, 79, a resident of Parkin, went to be with her Lord, Monday, October 16, 2023,

In Jonesboro. She was born, April 23, 1944, in Parkin, the daughter of Marvin Earnest and Mary Swinney Alexander.

She attended Parkin High School and worked for Earle Industries for over 20 years and also worked at Journey Inn in Marion for 20 some years. Virginia was a hard worker, and very crafty, she enjoyed working the voting polls and volunteering for community projects. She loved going to church, fishing, eating out with her sisters, visiting with friends and being around children. Her greatest joy was her family, and her dog. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Fabian Dwayne Watts, Reginald Batton, four brothers: Earnest Alexander, Carlos Alexander, Jimmy Alexander and Thomas Alexander.

Survivors include: one son: William “Smiley” Howell of Parkin, one daughter: Marilyn Hicks of Jonesboro, one brother: Charles Alexander of Parkin, two sisters: Frances Harris and Evelyn Blaylock both of Parkin, four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and her dog: Buckshot.

Visitation will be held Friday from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Smith Chapel Church in Wynne. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the church, burial will follow in Parkin Cemetery.
