Wesley Ray Harris, Sr.

Wesley Ray Harris, Sr., 66, a resident of Vanndale, departed this life, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at home with his family by side. He was born, September 2, 1956, in Wynne, the son of James Ray and Sarah Joyce Thomas Harris.

Wesley drove over the road for Kimberly-Clark and Denny Hammonds as well as a few others. He also worked as a boilermaker and welder with his son. He was a hardworking man with a big heart. Wesley enjoyed gardening, fishing and mowing his yard. He loved the Lord and his family beyond all else. Wesley was a very sweet man and the best husband, father and “Pop” anyone could ask for and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents; James and Sarah Harris, and a special daughter-in-law: Ashley Carter.

Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years: Shelia Gail Young Harris, three sons: Lance Duff and his wife Natalie of Salem, Wes Harris, Jr. and wife (Holly) of Wynne, Logan Harris and wife Taylor of Hickory Ridge, one daughter; Lisa Harris of Vanndale, two brothers: Randall Harris and wife Diane of Wynne, Clayton Harris and wife Elaine of Forrest City, two sisters: Renee Young and husband Clint of Vanndale, Denise Mathis of Vanndale, 12 grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren with one on the way.

Visitation will be held, Thursday evening from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at the Vanndale Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be held, Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Church with burial following in Akin Cemetery.
