William “Chris” Christopher Denton, 62, a resident of Wynne, departed this life, Friday, February 6, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born, March 24, 1963, in Brinkley, the son of Paul Clifton, Sr. and Gracie Bell Swearengin Denton.
Chris was disabled at birth but that didn’t slow him down, he was in the Special Olympics when he was younger and was inducted into the Cross County Hall of Fame. He was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan, collecting everything Cowboy, including schedules, calendars’, sports sections from the Democrat Gazette paper. He looked forward to visiting with everybody at the hospital before and after dialysis. He made a point to talk to the entire staff at the hospital and would also include some of the patients. Chris loved listening to country music, “picking” at his family and friends. He was a loving man with a great love for his family. He will be missed by many who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Paul, Sr and Gracie Denton and a brother-in-law: Paul Moore
Survivors include two brothers: Paul Denton, Jr., Donald Denton, three sisters: Alecia Cameron, Dianna George and husband Len, Karen Denton, all of Wynne, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and numerous friends.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Crossridge Community Hospital for loving Chris and spoiling him on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays for 20 plus years. Special thanks to Robert Brawner & Wayne Traylor for being the best friends to Chris. Thank you to Ashley Duncan, NP & Harmony Health for being a wonderful, caring and listening primary Care Provider. Thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their quick and professional service and thank you Dr. Beaton and Dr, Edwards for the many years you all cared for Chris.
Visitation for Chris will be held, Monday evening from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at the Woodard Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.at Woodard Funeral Home chapel in Wynne with burial following in Oaklawn Cemetery in Brinkley.
