Wilma Louise Huey, a resident of Wynne, Arkansas passed away, at the age of 76 on Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Med in Memphis. She was born March 2, 1943, in Fisher, Arkansas, the daughter of Roy William and Cora Bell White Cox.
Wilma graduated from Weiner High School and was married to Mr. Ronnie Huey for 58 years. She worked at Cross County jail as a cook and was a former flower shop owner. She loved fishing, being outdoors, sewing and cooking. She would cook for 2 or 200, and never use a recipe. She made sure everyone and everything that came by had plenty to eat. Her grandkids and dogs were her greatest love.
Mrs. Huey was preceded in death by her parents, one son: Forrest Ray Huey, one daughter: Myra Lynn Huey, one brother: Willie Cox, and her dog: Annie, who was her constant companion.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years: Ronnie Huey of the home, son: Lance Huey of Sheridan, three sisters: Dora Jean Sanders of Fisher, Rose Mary Hall of Hot Springs and Lila Gould of Detroit, Michigan, two grandchildren: Emma and Ethan Huey.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday at 11:00 at the “People Helping People” building at 109 Hurley Street in Amagon.
The family request memorials to be made to: people helping people, P.O. Box 124, Amagon, AR 72005 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
